PWCGSLL has been holding onto the hope that we would still be able to hold a spring softball season; however, the recent announcement by the Governor unfortunately made the decision for us. Because of Virginia’s "Stay at Home” order announced effective immediately and through June 10th, 2020, we have been left little choice but to cancel our 2020 spring season. We know how much Softball means to our 300 players, especially the 12-year old players entering their final spring majors’ season, the 16-year old’s entering their last spring Little league season, as well as all players.
Little League International has not officially cancelled the season; however, even if Little League decides to try and play late spring and summer we will be unable to participate because Prince William County Schools that control the majority of our fields and the Department of Parks and Recreation have closed community use on all school and park fields until July 1st, 2020.
We understand these are hard and stressful times for all. We are offering three options due to the unfortunate cancellation of our season. The League will grant all refunds requested minus a $10 administrative service fee to pay for the site service fee and credit card fee. If you can hold out until the fall season, we would greatly appreciate your patience and are happy to apply the credit to your fall registration. We are already planning an enhanced fall season to include all the fun we usual offer in the spring such as an opening day, longer season, new Training Tuesdays and more!
We are offering three spring season cancellation options for you.
1. Roll over your spring fees to Fall 2020
2. Donate your fees to PWCGSLL and all proceeds will be used to enhance our program or be applied to families in need who need assistance with registration fees
3. Request a refund minus minimal administrative expenses. Please understand that refunds will take 4-6 weeks to process the cancellation and issue a refund.This can only be done through a check reimbursement method.
To ensure we capture everyone’s request, we are asking that all cancellation requests go through our Spring 2020 Enrollment Options Form. These are scary times and PWCGSLL will not put the health and safety of our children ahead of the game. Please note that the PWCGSLL fields at Tyler Elementary and Catharpin Fields are closed and not to be used under any circumstances.
