Skills Assessment - Saturday, March 13th

If your daughter is registered in the Minors, Majors or Seniors divisions, they should attend the Skills Assessment on Saturday, March 13th at Tyler Elementary School. Times for each age group are listed below.

We will also be hosting in-person registration between 10am - 1pm.  This will be the last chance to register without incurring a late fee.

The Skills Assessment is an important precursor to the draft and is a necessary process to ensure the most fair and equitable distribution of talent across the teams. It will be held on and around the Majors Field at Tyler Elementary School in Gainesville, VA.

This season PWCGSLL will follow our COVID safety measures.  At Skills Assessment and ask all parents and players to strictly adhere to the following:

Face masks or coverings must be worn by all players, parents and spectators, at all times, with the exception of players during warm-ups and their skills events.

All players, parents and spectators should socially distance at least 6 feet from each other at all times. No touching such as handshakes, fist bumps or high-fives and no spitting or eating sunflowers seeds.

Please bring equipment for your player. They will need a bat, glove, batting helmet, softball face mask/guard (not required for the Skills Assessment, but recommended) and a face mask or covering. If they are catching then they should bring their catcher's gear. The League will have equipment that will be sanitized on site available for use, but strongly encourages the use of personal equipment.

PWCGSLL will be providing hand sanitizer and will ask players and parents to use it after the registration process and each event.

Please arrive 30 minutes before your player's age group skills assessment begins. After you check-in your player, you may either warm up with them on the field or head to the parents area to watch. If you choose not to warm up with your player, they will be assigned a partner for the entire warm up. Once warm up ends, we will stage the girls for the skills events. Please refer to map below.

Your Skills Assessment time is determined by the player's League Age.
The League Age is how old the player was on January 1st, 2021.

-League Ages 8 & 9 -- 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM
-League Age 10 -- 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
-League Age 11 -- 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
-League Age 12 -- 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
-League Ages 13-16 - 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

 * Girls ages 4 to 7 in the Rookies and T-Ball Divisions do not attend Skills Assessment.

PWCGSLL will be continuing our COVID safety precautions for Skills Assessment and the upcoming season; however, we will still have a great time playing softball. The League asks that all parents and players buy-in and respect our safety measures as we do our best to provide the girls a great atmosphere to play softball, while keeping the community and our players safe.
