Senior Skills Assessment This Thursday 8/20

The Seniors Division Skills Assessment will be held on Thursday, August 20th at 6:00 PM at Tyler Elementary School.

The Skills Assessment is an important precursor to the draft and is a necessary process to ensure the most fair and equitable distribution of talent across the teams. It will be held on and around the Majors Field at Tyler Elementary School in Gainesville, VA.

This year PWCGSLL will be implementing several safety measures at the Skills Assessment that we ask all parents and players to strictly follow.

1. Face masks or coverings must be worn by all players, parents and spectators, at all times, with the exception of players during warm-ups and their skills events.
2. All players, parents and spectators should socially distance at least 6 feet from each other at all times. No touching such as hand shakes, fist bumps or high-fives and no spitting or eating sunflowers seeds.
3. Specific areas around the field will be marked with flags separated 10 feet apart to ensure social distancing. Players will be moved from position to position.
4. Please bring equipment for your player. They will need a bat, glove, batting helmet, softball face mask/guard (not required for the Skills Assessment, but recommended) and a face mask or covering. If they are catching then they should bring their catcher's gear. The League will have equipment that will be sanitized on site available for use, but strongly encourages the use of personal equipment.

PWCGSLL will be providing hand washing stations and hand sanitizer and will ask players and parents to use it after the registration process and each event.

Please arrive at 6:00 PM to register and warm up for the Skills Assessment. The skill events will begin at 6:30 PM.

It will likely be a very hot day so please be sure to bring extra water for your player and any spectators.

PWCGSLL will be taking many additional safety precautions for this Skills Assessment and the upcoming season; however, we will still have a great time playing softball in the hot summer sun and chilly fall nights. The League asks that all parents and players buy-in to the new safety measures and respect the changes this season as we do our best to provide these girls a great atmosphere to play softball while keeping the community and our players safe.
